2012! New Year, new life, new time to create memories… and memories I did create for this 2nd day of the new year!
Every K-Pop fangirl, or at least those who consider themselves ELFs (Super Junior’s fan club), were caught with surprise last night when Siwon suddenly tweeted that he was on his way to Manila. I, myself, couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw his tweet (yes, I’m following him and everyone else in SuJu who has a twitter account^^). That was so out of the blue because there was no previous news about their arrival. After a few minutes of tweet exchanges with my k-pop girlfriends, another scoop (I sound like a reporter hehe) arrived stating that Kyu, yes as in my Baby Kyu, was with Siwon!!! Now, THAT was some news for me right there! I mean, hey, that’s my Baby we’re talking about and it’s new year! What a way to start the year, dontcha agree?
Even then though, I was dead tired from travelling from Montalban the whole day and though I so wanted to meet him at the airport, I couldn’t bring myself to go to the airport alone, take note, via a taxi cab (coz I have no car). I thought I can just take a rest for a couple of hours and then head straight to the airport but I ended up sleeping till morning. So, airport = FAIL.
As it was the first working day of the year, I woke up early and went to work around 8AM this morning. I arrived in the office 8:30-ish. I started my day by greeting all my online friends in our internal office messenger with a “happy new year” before starting to really work. But before I can even start working, one of my colleagues sent me a message saying “Oh, by the way, I heard Super Junior is downstairs. They’re Koreans right?” Imagine my surprise! 0_0 In my haste, I immediately headed for our pantry area that’s overlooking the Eastwood Mall entrance and left my colleague whom I was still chatting with. ㅋㅋㅋI thought the shoot was over but apparently they were just setting up. I caught a glimpse of a guy whom I thought was Siwon so then I confirmed they were ended downstairs. Of course, without further adieu, I was going for the elevator while calling Julie on the phone. How could this day be so great for me, right?!
When I arrived at the area, there were already few fans lurking within the area. I first saw several Caucasians seated near the Momo Restaurant side while some others were doing their dance rehearsals for the take. After that group had a couple of takes, the SuJu boys suddenly came out from inside the mall and sat in the tables outside of Momo. First who came out was Siwon, then Kyuhyun, finally Eunhyuk! OMG! I finally saw my Baby Kyu in the flesh at such close proximity! The fan girls infront of me suddenly ran towards their side but as expected, the staff reprimanded them. So that gave me an idea. I need to stay at Momo’s side if I want to be near them. :-) Few minutes later, it was the SuJu boys’ turn for the take so they went to the center. That was my cue to transfer beside the table they previously occupied. What surprised me was, while I was heading that way, no one as in NO ONE reprimanded me. Maybe because I was wearing office attire and they never thought I was a fan girl too? ^^ Then that was another plus point for me!
So, I stood on my spot for a good 30 or 40 minutes while the SuJu boys were filming. So that I won’t be obvious that I was an onlooker myself, I talked to a Caucasian guy beside me who was part of the filming. I did some small talk with him, he was Canadian by the way, and eventually learned where the other filming locations were while acting like I didn’t really care for the SuJu boys, much more knew them, the whole time. Bwahahahaha! Well, I had to keep the act if I wanted to stay in my spot, people! There was one time that some fangirls went to my area with cameras to get good shots, but again, a Korean lady staff shooed them away. She eyed me as well but I just returned her gaze and didn’t bat an eyelash so she may have thought I was part of “their”group and was not a fangirl. Hahaha! See! That’s what I’m talking about!
Now, here’s the best part. After 40-ish minutes, the boys finished filming and returned to the table. Yes, the table that was beside me!!! I couldn’t contain myself. I was already trembling coz Kyu was literally sitting beside me, just a few centimeters away!!! 0_0 Good thing, my Caucasian friend suddenly said that it was his turn to film and had to go to the center. This was my chance to be a fangirl again! In the table, Kyuhyun and Eunhyuk were seated next to each other while Siwon was infront Kyu. A Korean guy cordy was with them and was busy fixing Kyu. I knew that this was my only chance to have a “moment” with Kyu so I held my breath and casually walked nearer to Kyu. I saw that the guy cordy was also preparing to attack errr shoo me away if I do anything stupid so when I was really near I just said “Hi Kyu!” and he responded with “Hello”. Gosh I couldn’t even think of a much better statement to say coz I was trembling! I should have said better things right? Argh! Anyways, before I get embarrassed by being shooed by that cordy guy, I continued walking away from them for a good distance before I turned around and walked back towards them. But this time, I didn’t anymore greet any of them but headed straight back to our office. Of course, if I had better chances I would have loved to say hi to Eunhyuk as well but I don’t wanna push my luck any further. Having a moment with Kyu was enough!
So, I headed back to my office, still trembling, that I couldn’t even text Charity properly! I heard that 30 minutes after I went up, the filming concluded and they transferred to another location. My moment with Kyu may have been short but it was so great knowing that it was unexpected, I was the only one who was able to go near as in NEAR him except for the one lady who was able to hug the three boys *envious* coz she was part of the filming group and of course, it was new year and a new start of the year! What a way to start 2012 indeed! Hmm, now that I have Kyu’s, does this mean it’s gonna be Jiyong next? I hope so!

A little after lunch on November 22, Mhel, Leepie and I arrived at the NAIA Terminal 3 to meet Inya. It was still early for our flight so we took a bite at Pancake House after check-in (Yes, may Pancake House na sa NAIA 3. Like!). Plane was supposed to depart at 3:35 PM but due to late arrival of our turnaround aircraft, we departed past 4PM. By 5PM = Caticlan! To reach Boracay island from the airport we had to (1) take a trike to the jetty port (cost: P50 for all 4 of us) and (2) ride a boat to the island (cost: P155/pax for the regular boat; the fast craft wasn’t available).
Side note: Calling on local officials of Malay. Can you streamline the ticket buying process at the jetty port such that we just need to go to one window to pay for everything? The jetty port was chaotic because we had to go to 3 different windows before we could get our tickets! On top of that, you can go to these windows in any order! I was shouting to my friends “Ano ba yan? Wala man lang process??!” lol
Finally, after an exhausting air, land and water trip, I was in Boracay island! I made a reservation at Azzurro di Boracay (cost: P2000/room/night) so we were immediately taken to our room. Because Azzurro was at the boundary of stations 2 & 3, we had to take a loooooong walk before we finally found our dinner – isaw, gambas, grilled liempo and stuffed squid (cost: P1000 inclusive of rice for 4 + 1 extra and 1.5L Coke). Dinner was really yummy that we finished everything! Dinner = PERFECT! We were planning to go and check out the gimik spots in Station 1 that night but we ended up buying pasalubong stuff in one of the stores and didn’t realize it was 11PM when we were done. So Station 1 for Day 1 = FAIL. To make up for it, we just looked for a bar nearby to grab a bottle of Tanduay Ice.
2nd day. November 23 was a busy day. I woke up around 9AM, took a shower and went out with Inya to meet Kuya Joseph (our designated “tour guide” thanks to my officemate Nerie). He offered several activities and we chose ATV (cost: Php 500), zip line (cost: Php 700) and helmet diving (Php 600 inclusive of a CD with our pics and videos underwater). Note: Prices are for Pinoys. Foreigner rates are doubled). While waiting for Leepie and Mhel to finish prepping up, Inya and I had our hair braided (cost: Php 150). By the time braiding was finished, it was lunch time so we took our not-so-satisfying lunch. Food = FAIL, Service = FAIL.

It's been almost two weeks since Kim Hyun Joong's second mini-album Lucky was released in Korea. Prior to that, however, the internet was already a-buzz with pre-orders of the album and I even saw one news article stating that it was climbing the charts fast even before its official release! That's what you call popularity, ladies and gentlemen. This guy has certainly come a long way from his SS501 days.
Lemme just give my comments about this new album of his. Well, for one, it is a totally different compilation of songs than Break Down. I'd say, Break Down was a good choice for his debut album as a solo singer coz it established KHJ as a solo artist, and overhauled his "idol" and "flower boy" image. Fortunately, it clicked with the fans, leaving them craving for more. The three songs he promoted during those days were also of different genre and mood --- Break Down had a catchy tune and was mostly dance, Please was the ballad that showcased his improved vocals, and Kiss Kiss had a cute and light tune that it immediately became my favorite. This second mini-album, however, was different. Up until few days ago, I really can't appreciate Lucky Guy coz the music was totally different from the previous songs. It didn't have the same bad ass feel as Break Down but it wasn't also as cutesy as Kiss Kiss. Yes, the music video was superb with the Ocean's Eleven concept and U:zoosin finally making its debut in his MVs, but it just didn't click with me.
I waited for his comeback stage in the music shows to see if I'll eat my words again, like what happened with Break Down and Kiss Kiss. On the contrary, I had little to no reaction the entire time I was watching his performance. I even appreciated his Do You Like That performance more. Now, this happened while I was watching the M! Countdown stage. When I watched the Music Bank stage, however, I finally realized the point of the song and I slowly started to appreciate it. Perhaps I was expecting a Break Down-like performance that's why I was kinda disappointed with it. I realized that Lucky Guy was made to be enjoyed more than putting an act while performing it. I could see that KHJ was enjoying his performance so much on stage and it was like he was just playing and having a good time. Maybe the constant playing of Lucky Guy contributed to my change of heart but I was finally able to "embrace" the song. lol! To put icing to the cake, he won his first K-chart #1 for Lucky Guy at the end of that performance! Whoa! I was really surprised coz it just his first week!!! Hmmm, maybe my purchase of his album helped him win. Hahahaha!
9:00 AM – I finally got up to take a shower, since everyone else was done. We then headed to The Pirates’ Resto Bar to have some breakfast. Joy, Renalyn, Lucy and Jovy left earlier in the morning but we later on learned that the boat had some problems on their way back and they arrived at Maya port by almost lunch time.

6:00 AM – Our boat finally reached the island. Due to low tide, however, it couldn’t get near the shore so we had to wade in the almost waist-deep waters. My shorts, (I was wearing short shorts), got wet! Argh!
The island looked deserted though. We were told that it was not the peak season that’s why there weren’t many guests (and the guests were prolly still sleeping coz it was just 6AM) plus the fact that a typhoon just happened a few days earlier.
Virgil arranged for our accommodation at Cocobana prior our arrival so we already had rooms. After checking out the place, we proceeded to our rooms but not before doing a photo op first, of course!
The girls stayed at the Waling Waling room while the boys stayed at Ilang Ilang. Us girls decided to take a quick dip in the waters since we were already wet anyways but the sun was up when we finally went out and it was still low tide. After spending some minutes in the waters,we went to our rooms to shower and catch up some sleep before the rest of the group arrives.
10:00 AM – My roommates woke me up for lunch. Before taking a nap earlier, we made arrangements with someone who offered to cook our SuTuKil lunch at 110 per head. That was fairly cheap considering the amount of food we had later on. When I went out, food was not yet ready so we just killed time by playing games. Trust our group to come up with the most unexpected things just to kill time. ^^ We decided to play Patintero and Message Relay, yes, the games we used to play when we were kids (in one of our other reunions, we even played Hide & Seek inside the hostel room lol!). Guess who won? Of course, it was my group! Haha!

I immediately created an event invite in Facebook to extend the invitation to the rest of our batchmates, from other locations. Some declined due to personal reasons while the rest tentatively accepted. What was funny was, while there were 8 of us from Manila, those who accepted from Cebu were less than half our number! 0_0 How could that be??? One of our classmates, Francis aka Franzmac, also came home from the US and even promised to pay for our accommodation which was good news. Whad’ya say? Thanks Francis!

The inevitable has arrived ... Rain has finally enlisted for his official military duties. I have mixed feelings. One part of me is relieved that he has finally entered the camp. He has delayed his enlistment for far too long that if this was again delayed, someone might just drag him there one day, which would be a huge blow to his image not to mention the criticisms he'll receive from the Korean populace. The other part of me, however, is kinda sad of course, since he'll be sorta out of the limelight for a time. I say "sorta" because I know for sure, the Armed Forces won't let this opportunity pass of them having a World Star in their midst. Case in point = Hyun Bin.
I wasn't able to watch the news earlier so I dunno what transpired prior his entrance into the camp and how many fans were able to send him off. I read from several articles in the internet though that it was covered live by several news programs, him being the second to have it after Hyun Bin. Judging from how this event was given that much coverage, I won't be surprised if Korea will suddenly have an "army ad" with him as the main ambassador. Not that I would mind though, coz that will be an opportunity for us fans to catch a glimpse of him while he's inside. So, it's not gonna be a straight "no Rain for the next 21 months" thing then. Sounds promising right?
Honestly, I haven't shed a tear eversince the date of his enlistment was confirmed. Why? Because I knew this was coming. Yes, I was sad and I even had a sudden Rain mode last night as well as now, as I'm writing this entry, but I don't wanna go all emotional and bawl my eyes out. I guess I'm not on that level anymore ...err.. is this a sign that I'm getting old? ^^ Naah, I'm just being realistic and pragmatic about things.
One thing bothers me though. What's awaiting him when he finishes his military service? Will he get married by then ... if he hasn't yet? :-) Will he still be The World Star that he is today? I have high hopes for the affirmative on these. Let's wait and see people. For the meantime, I just wanna wish him good health and safety for the next 21 months. Till then JiHun!!!

These two just look cute together. I don’t know if it’s because they’re both from YG and are comfortable with each other, like how TOP and Bom are, or they’re really close on a ‘special’ level. Hehe. Their chemistry is just perfect and did I already say they’re cute? ^^ I don’t mind that Jiyong is 3 or 4 years younger than Dara coz it really doesn’t show.
Honestly, I was never a fan of Sandara Park when she was popular here in the Philippines. As for G-Dragon, I never knew he existed until 3 years ago perhaps, but was also not my type. His fashion sense gives me the creeps and for some reason, he looked gay to me. Yeah, that was the ME before I came to know how amazing he is when he performs onstage.
I first started to be on this ship when I saw them both perform Hello on GD’s Shine a Light concert. I was browsing through the performances as a GD fan and was looking for his version of Lies when I saw their cute number. Never mind that Dara had very few lines in the song but their interaction during the performance was really cute! Yeah, I said cute again. Maybe that’s what this couple is = cute. Dontcha agree?
In no time, I researched fanfics about them in the internet and I was surprised to find out that there were a LOT! It seems I have lots of company in my ship. More so, I was actually a late bloomer! ㅋㅋㅋ I think I already finished more than 5 fanfics as of today. As a matter of fact, I just finished one as I’m writing this post. Addict much, eh? In case you’re interested, you might wanna check ‘em out too. Read them here. I recommend My Celebrity Roommate, Broken Law, Fire and Ice, Sugar, Spies and Everything Nice, Love me, Hate me, You’re Having my Baby, and The Evil Prince.
Read away friends and let’s all marvel at the story of DaraGon! Do you guys think they’re real, as in they’re a real couple? I wish! But my baby Jiyong has to ask my permission first. ㅋㅋㅋ

Here you go people! Check out this photo! Look at Mr. "Gorgeous-Looking Bodyguard" Jeong looking at me too...err...all of them are actually looking at me as my friend pointed out. Most of all, HE IS LOOKING AT ME!!! &%(*#&$*#&^$*&^#$ I can't get over this! I just can't! :-)
... And I just want to share with all of you, here's my gift to him. Go figure what these really are! LOL!

8:15 AM. Upon arrival at the hotel, I noticed several guys and a girl wearing black with cameras and The Face Shop Asia Tour IDs hung around their necks and I figured KHJ might be coming out of the elevator any moment. Good thing the house phone was near that area. I called the room of the Koreans several times but no one answered. Apparently, they had breakfast first that’s why no one was answering the phone. Suddenly, the “Face Shop” people started to leave the hotel and boarded the hotel shuttle. :-( No KHJ sighting for me after all.
9:00 AM. Few minutes later, I saw Julie’s friends – Hye Jeong and Minsook, and we all went outside to wait for a taxi cab. While we were there waiting for the cab, Rainna and Alice, Jean’s HK friends I met on Wednesday night, suddenly appeared beside me. Like us, they were also waiting for a cab for MOA. Because the next cab that arrived could accommodate all of 5 of us, we decided to go together. So, I was with two HongKong and two Korean fans whom I met because of Hyun Joong. Ako na ang international! LOL!
